Well done, you’ve found me!!!

About me

I run a web-development company offering competitively priced web design, web hosting, and SEO (Search engine Optimisation), content writing, link-building, flash integration, and e-commerce solutions.  My clients include a mixed range from individuals and one-man businesses, to limited companies and national corporate organisations.

I also operate Reach More Media (www.reachmoremedia.co.uk) a public relations company offering marketing solutions aimed at both businesses and individuals.  Past commissions have included product placement promotions and creating public awareness of commercial services offered within the public, private and voluntary sector.

Options offered by ReachMoreMedia could include anything from producing a press release as part of an on-going marketing campaign to writing editorials and features for newsprint, magazines, or new media.

As a freelance journalist I regularly write about food, drink, and music.  I pen several regular columns, editorials and features in a broad range of newspapers and magazines, and contribute to several online blogs.  My scribbling's can be found under my own name, several pen names, and I even ghost-write when the contract requires me to do this.

I also run a wacky “off-the-cuff” personal blog commenting in a satirical way on news-worthy issues and various aspects of everyday life.

Alongside all of this I occasionally find time to teach, tutor and lecturer about end-user IT applications within the post-16 further education sector, and I deliver various IT workshops to various voluntary and community organisations.

Beer and pubs

I was once described by former BBC Radio Nottingham presenter Jeff Owen as “Mr. Nottingham Camra” (I was Nottingham Camra Chairman 1994-2007), and “The Beer God of Nottingham” – a particular interest of mine is writing about beer, and more importantly, drinking it.

I enjoy drinking most good quality beers in friendly beer drinking environments.

I like most beer types and styles whether they be cask conditioned, key keg, the new-wave American style craft beer, or just a good old flavoursome pint of well-made home-brew.

I am not prejudice in any way as to how a beer is made, what it’s called, how it’s stored, where it comes from, who makes it, or if in fact the origin of a beers’ production is mentioned on its marketing material(s) – this lack of information does not, and will never affect the taste of the beer…as long as it tastes good, I’ll drink and enjoy it.

I enjoy drinking a good cider and Perry too, though these are becomingly increasingly difficult to find – in recent times a lot of home-cider producers have jumped on the band-wagon and attempted to produce commercially acceptable products, but have failed miserably.

Music and broadcast

Having successfully run my own music promotions’ and bookings company, and having worked as an independent broadcast producer, and for the now defunct Central Television during the mid-80’s, I love all things music, and broadcast.

Music is a passion of mine.  I love listening to music be it pre-recorded, or via broadcast media, or watching live performances in pubs, bars, contemporary indoor spaces, and at open-air music festivals.  V-fest is one of the best music festivals held in Britain today.

I also love the radio medium and am proud to have been an active member of the BBC Local Radio Advisory Council for nearly two years during the noughties.
Currently I host a handful of websites for several online radio stations, and design programme output for some of them.
